Part 2: How to Recover iPhone/iPad/iPod Backup Password with UUKeys

When you begin the search for iPhone backup password recovery tool, it is highly possible that you will end up with a practical tool, called UUkeys iTunes Password Unlocker. It is an effective and powerful tool to recover iPhone, iPad or iPod backup password. The password recovery speed is accurate and fast with the help of multi-core CPU and GPU support. And it supports restoring backup password made by all versions of iTunes.

To make sure that your password can be recovered accurately, UUkeys iTunes Password Unlocker makes use of multiple types of attacks in the recovery process. For instance, brute-force attack is a technique, wherein all types of character combinations are tried; so small passwords can be easily recovered with it. Another type of attack is brute-force with mask attack, which will help with saving the recovery time if you partially remembered the password. The other two types of attacks are dictionary attack and smart attack. With these technologies, this tool will help you with the best recovery of the backup password.

Things that You Need to Prepare:

  • UUkeys iTunes Backup Unlocker

Tutorial: How to Recover iPhone/iPad/iPod Backup Password with UUkeys iTunes Backup Unlocker

Step 1. Install and Run UUkeys iTunes Backup Unlocker on Windows Computer

Please click the green download button to save the .exe on a computer. Currently, the program can only run on Windows PC. Mac version is still under development. Double click the downloaded file to install the program. The installation process is quite simple with the default setup up wizard. Finally, launch the program after installation.

Step 2. Add Password-Protected Backup File to the Program

When UUkeys iTunes Backup Unlocked was opened, it will automatically scan all the backup files in the default location. Then list them on the main window. You can see the device name, backup date and serial number for each backup file. Select one from the list and click Next.

However, if there was no backup file detected, then click the import button to add encrypted iTunes backup to the program.

Step 3. Select a Correct Password Recovery Mode

As I stated above, there are two different types of recovery modes you can choose from. Currently, Brute-force with Mask Attack is the most effective way to find the right password.

If you don't know a single digit of the password, then go with Brute-force Attack. Dictionary attack is no longer used too much so it is not recommended in here. However, you can give it a try if you were confident about it.

Step 4. Make Proper Settings for Password Recovery

The password recover process will be started automatically if you selected Brute-force Attack as the recovery method. So skip this step.

However, if you chose Brute-force with Mask Attack, then you have to fill out the settings you could remember, such as password length, character range, start or end character. This will reduce a lot of time if you set it correctly.

Step 5. Add GPU and More CPU to Increase Running Speed (Optional)

If you felt the password recovering speed is a bit low and the computer has multiple CPU/GPU, then you can add them to the program via Settings, which is displayed on the top of the program.

Kindly select the CPUs and tick GPU acceleration tab once you were preparing to do that. However, this will decrease the running speed for other programs, pleas be noted. If you have emergent tasks to be done on that computer, you can disable this feature or pause the program.

Step 6. Start Recovering Forgotten Password from iTunes Backup

After attack type selection, click "OK" button at the bottom to begin the real password recovery task. For simple password, it can be completed in a few minutes. For complex password, it will take more time. So you should be patient about it.

Also, I suggest running this program at night because it will affect the running speed if you use the computer at the same time running this program.

Step 7. Copy the Scanned Password to Unlock iTunes Backup File

When the right password being scanned, the program will display the password below the Password field. Copy the password to clipboard and launch iTunes. Paste the password when iTunes asks you to input the password. After this, you can easily restore the data from that backup file now.

When you completed forgot the iTunes backup password, UUkeys iTunes Backup Unlocker is the only tool you should consider to help you out.
